What began as a wholesome interaction spiraled into hostility, with Jack Della Maddalena targeting Ian Garry in a venomous outburst. Ahead of UFC 315, JDM awaits his title shot against Belal Muhammad, but his feud with Garry stole headlines in a surprising manner. The verbal jabs escalated quickly, with personal insults flying, making fans excited for a potential rivalry.

Recently, Garry shared an Instagram video of his son handing M&M’s to Della Maddalena ahead of the fight. However, it was right when JDM was going through his weight cut, which is generally a brutal experience for fighters. Back then, the Aussie star accepted the gift, but when asked about it later, he gave a strong and controversial reply.

I don’t think that’s actually Ian’s son, but I don’t like M&M’s.

This comment referenced Garry’s controversial history involving his wife, Layla Anna-Lee and her ex-husband, Richard Cullen. Following their separation, Layla married the Irish UFC Irish star, and together they eventually welcomed a child of their own. Layla and Cullen had a son previously, whom Garry took responsibility for raising as part of their blended family.

Garry wanted his biological son and stepson to get along, promoting unity and stability within their unique and public family structure. On top of that, Garry also hired Cullen as his nutritionist in order to keep him close to his son. According to the fighter, Cullen has helped him greatly in weight cuts, keeping his eating habits in check.

For this, the ‘Future’ had to face a massive public slander and comments from other fighters, particularly from Colby Covington. Garry wanted to fight the ‘Chaos’ but never got the opportunity but could deal with Della Maddalena after this latest comment. If JDM beats Belal Muhammad this Saturday and gets the belt, Garry is definitely one of the top contenders.

Jack Della Maddalena slams Belal Muhammad in UFC 315 presser

Heading into UFC 315 this weekend, Jack Della Maddalena is considered an underdog, though he doesn’t seem fazed by it. He remains undefeated in the UFC and currently holds an impressive 17-fight winning streak in his professional mixed martial arts career. In his last fight, he knocked out Gilbert Burns, showcasing dominant power and poise under pressure inside the octagon.

Now, he’s planning to deliver a similar performance against Belal Muhammad, aiming to secure another decisive and career-defining victory. However, the champion believes he has striking superiority and would knock out the challenger without shooting for a takedown. After hearing those claims, it didn’t take JDM to come up with a slick response.

I’d be pretty embarrassed if he broke me. He’s never broken anyone.

Muhammad has often been criticized for being boring due to few finishes and over-reliance on wrestling in the octagon. His fight against Leon Edwards changed some perceptions, but not enough to shake his reputation. If he delivers on his promise to knock out Della Maddalena, it could massively boost his popularity and public respect.

Jack Della Maddalena’s ultimate plan after UFC 315

Jack Della Maddalena can see a massive rise if he defeats Belal Muhammad to capture the UFC welterweight title. Next, he would look to defend his title against rising contenders like Ian Garry and Sean Brady to cement legitimacy. The Aussie fighter wants to dominate the division and be part of the top UFC pay-per-views.

Apart from that, Della Maddalena could pursue a superfight against lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, aiming to beat the pound-for-pound ace. The Aussie fighter has shown interest in beating Makhachev, and taking revenge for fellow countryman Alexander Volkanovski, who lost twice against the Dagestani.
