Ilia Topuria rose to fame when he defeated Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298. With that, he became the UFC featherweight champion. And ever since fans and fighters alike have wondered when will Topuria defend his title. However, it looks like Topuria is finally hinting towards a matchup on X.

It has been over two months since Ilia Topuria became champion. He has turned down matchup after another but it looks like we may finally see him in the octagon once again. Taking to X, Ilia Topuria sent out a tweet that got fans really excited. Translated from Spanish, it read: “I already have a date for UFC Spain”.

Dana White had just announced that the UFC would be returning to Paris for the third straight year. Hours later Topuria sent out his ‘UFC Spain’ tweet. No official plans for Spain have been released by the UFC just yet. But the UFC CEO had previously declared that he would soon bring the UFC to Spain.

Topuria wants the UFC to host its debut event at Spain’s iconic Santiago Bernabeu stadium. He had also declared that he wants Conor McGregor in the octagon as his opponent. With the Irish superstar returning to the UFC this June, will we see a McGregor vs. Topuria main event anytime soon? Only time will tell.
