“I’m a little bit like Tiger Woods”- Lewis Hamilton jokes after a golf challenge with Tom Brady
Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton stepped on the tee at the Miami Beach Golf Club with Tom Brady and Marcus Allen along with Brandon Okpalobi. The two American football legends and F1 champ took part in the event in order to raise money for underprivileged children in Miami. Okpalobi is a Nigerian-American entrepreneur and also the founder of a charity that has been designed to bring social change via STEM and to offer recreational education for underserved youth in nearly 30 states and 8 nations.
Hamilton, who is in Miami for the inaugural Miami Grand Prix that will take place this weekend isn’t impressed with his golf skills. Brady had the longest drive of 278 yards, Hamilton on the other hand has not picked up a golf club for three years. Following this, the F1 driver commented about him “sticking to driving on the track.”c
Finally, I’m going to win something this year: Hamilton jokes as he is going through a rough season this year
Hamilton had the last pitch shot, he put his ball to within a few feet, which left him to walk with a smile, “Finally, I’m going to win something this year,” Hamilton remarked.
Talking about his own golfing skills, Hamilton said, “I would like to say I’m a little bit like Tiger (Woods) with the putting. I was always so far away from the pin so I was always having to do the long putts, and every now and then I’d get one of those 10 footers, otherwise I was just useless.”
The highlight of this weekend is the Grand Prix in Miami, Hamilton exclaimed, “It’s our first time here in Miami and the anticipation for this event has skyrocketed, there are a few nerves because there’s going to be so many people here, it’s a new circuit but there’s so much excitement.”
