‘I’m expecting this fight to be a war’-Oliveira on fighting Ferguson at UFC 256
Charles Oliveira

Charles Oliveira, currently on a seven fight win streak; all through finishes, is ready to take on “El Cucuy” and prove that he is a serious contender for the UFC lightweight championship.

The no.6 ranked Oliveira has been calling out the top contenders of his division for the past few years. If he can manage a win against Tony Ferguson, put together with his victory over Kevin Lee at UFC fight night 170, he undoubtedly deserves a shot at the title and proves himself as one of the top contenders.

Ferguson, ranked no.4 in the lightweight division, has been waiting to get back into the octagon after suffering a fifth round TKO against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 in May. The defeat stopped his 12 fight win-streak, but this seems to have gotten Ferguson all riled up for his match against Oliveira.

“I’m happy for this opportunity to fight Ferguson”- Oliveira on facing a top contender

Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson

I’m taking this fight on less than 20 days notice, but it’s a chance to display my talent and show I’m ready to fight any top 5 ranked guy, like I’ve been saying for a while now”, Oliveira told UFC.com. “The time has come. I will shock the world on December 12.”

Oliveira said “We both like to fight, we both move forward Fans can be sure this is going to be a war, but they can also be sure that when it’s done, my arm will be raised. It’s my moment. I respect Ferguson in every way – he’s tough, a fantastic guy – but now it’s my time.”

Who do you think will win? Does Oliveira have what it takes to battle it out pound for pound with “El Cucuy”?
