Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan
The title rematch between the undisputed champion, Aljamain Sterling, and the interim bantamweight champion, Petr Yan is all set to take place at UFC 272. Yan lost his belt after hitting Sterling with an illegal knee. He is been itching to get his hands on Sterling ever since, but “The Funkmaster” was out from action because of lingering neck issues.
He is not healthy and fit to fight, and he won’t leave any stone unturned this time around. It is pretty evident that he was getting his a** kicked by Yan in their first meeting, but Sterling believes a lot has changed since then, and he is more than ready to retain his undisputed title.
He made a bold prediction for this fight as he wrote, “I’m gonna spark this guy. One of us will look like a jacka** and I know it won’t be me! Bet on it!
The news of the rematch was broken out by Brett Okamoto from ESPN after he was told by UFC President Dana White. The fight will take place at UFC 272, on March 5, 2022, in Las Vegas, USA. He wrote on Twitter “This one’s a long time coming. UFC 272, March 5, per Dana White. Champ, Aljamain Sterling (@funkmasterMMA) vs. Interim Champ, Petr Yan (@PetrYanUFC). Can’t ask for more of a backstory than this going into a title rematch. Redemption for Yan. Chance to shut soooo many up for Aljo.”

Sterling and Yan go back-and-forth on Twitter. Yan calls Sterling a coward, and Sterling calls him dumb. After the fight was announced he posted another sarcastic joke for Yan.
He wrote, Yan: What? What’s wrong with breaking the rules? Isn’t it just a warning??
Everybody: You gave away the fight…
Yan: Wait, so after all these years that strike has been illegal, even after the ref says “DONT DO IT!”??
Everybody: You aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed, huh?
Well, it’s all fun and games until you are locked inside the cage with him, but Sterling isn’t somebody to mess around with either, so it will be interesting to see how this one turns out.
