“I’m sure we will meet again, champion,” says Michael Chandler replying to Dan Hooker’s post
Michael Chandler and Dan Hooker met each other in the octagon at UFC 257 co-main event. It was Michael Chandler’s debut performance in the UFC and he started it in the best possible way. The former three-time Bellator champion knocked out the Kiwi in the first round and stunned the world.
Dan Hooker recently shared a post on social media stating he’s back in his home country, New Zealand. The fighter is still in quarantine and has not met his family yet. The photo was sad because he still hasn’t met his wife and kid and he have another 12 days of quarantine remaining. The fighter has already gone through 44 days of quarantine.
Dan posted on Twitter with a photo saying, “44 days down, 12 to go.” His UFC 257 rival, Chandler reposted that post on his Instagram story offering support to his opponent. The fighter also hinted that they will meet again in the Octagon.
“Proud to have shared the Octagon with Dan Hooker. Some things are bigger than sport. I salute this warrior for his courage and sacrifice for his family. I’m sure we will meet again, champion,” Michael Chandler wrote.
Who will Chandler be fighting next?
Before Chandler’s debut in the Octagon, there were a lot of doubts that he would succeed in UFC. Dan Hooker’s lead up to the fight was that he would send Chandler back to the “B-League”. However, the fight ended in favor of Chandler.
After the massive win, Michael Chandler used his opportunity to call out one of the best lightweight contenders of all time, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Though the fighter seemed ambitious, Chandler has realistic options like Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje.
Though Hooker’s return is uncertain and reuniting with his family is his main priority, would you like to see Chandler fight Chandler again?
