“I’m undefeated and I’m the champ here,” writes Khamzat Chimaev on his Twitter
Khamzat Chimaev was the center of attention ever since he stepped inside of the octagon. His career went off to a flying start as he won three consecutive fights in over 2 months. Impressed by his performance, the Russian managed to bag a high-profile fight against Leon Edwards.
Just when everything was going great, the fighter contracted the deadly COVID virus and was severely affected by it. Things went downhill and out of nowhere the fighter also called for retirement. The fighter has a record of 9-0-0 in his professional career having never lost.
But recently on March 24th, Khamzat Chimaev put out a tweet suggesting his return. The fighter tweeted, “Surprise surprise I’m coming back to smash everybody.” on Twitter. Since then the fighter is training to make a comeback into the welterweight division as soon as possible.
Khamzat is looking to get back to the form he was in before catching the virus. His last bout was against Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley. Chimaev knocked out his opponent in just 17 seconds of the very first round.
“All of you lost,” says Khamzat Chimaev
Khamzat Chimaev made his debut in the UFC octagon in 2020 where he featured in the UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige. If his fight against Leon Edwards had not been canceled, it is very possible that today Chimaev might have been fighting for the title.
In his recent tweet, the fighter wrote, “All of you have lost, I’m undefeated and I’m the champ here.” Though Khamzat might be high on his trash talk, he does back it with the performances he’s made inside the ring. One doesn’t impress the UFC bossman with just talk and no skills to back it up.
Do you think Khamzat Chimaev has the potential to be a champion fighter?
