Novak Djokovic shows his generosity once again, installs three additional bubble courts in the tennis centre of Belgrade

Novak Djokovic is one of the most distinguished sportsmen in history. The 17-time Grand Slam champion has long been vocal about changes that can be brought to tennis. Inspite of his magnanimous success, Nole is quite down-to-earth. He has stopped numerous times on the street to give lessons to kids when asked questions about tennis. 

Further, Djokovic has contributed to the improvement of Serbia through his Novak Djokovic Foundation. Most recently, he covered for health expenses of all the first graders. Moreover, he has been vocal about his admiration for his homeland. Only recently, Novak revealed that he has named his daughter after a mountain in Serbia called, ‘Tara.’

In an interview with L’EQUIPE, coach of Damir Dzumhur, Petar Popovic, shed light on Novak’s kind gesture towards fellow Serbian male and female players.

Popovic explained the harsh realities that the majority of players have to deal with. “In winter, the courts are very expensive here. Especially for a 700th, 800th or 1000th player in the world.”

Djokovic has gotten three-bubble courts and a gym installed in Belgrade. Further, he’s made physiotherapists and stringers available to about fifteen players for the entirety of the off-season. Moreover, the Serb provides for their food and lodging as well.

Besides the facilities, Djokovic also offers meals to the players and their staff. He does so even for those who do not live in Belgrade. 

Petar added, “Novak did an incredible thing for our country. We really needed that. Especially the young players. It’s an exceptional help. I don’t see other players who have done this for their country’s tennis. He doesn’t brag about it. He has shown that he thinks of others.”
