Rohit Sharma had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Babar Azam and his partner Mohammad Rizwan couldn’t repeat the result of last year’s T20 World Cup this time. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave the massive breakthrough by dismissing Azam and went on to dismiss other three batters. While Hardik Pandya scalped three wickets and when India were batting, he displayed his all-round performance.

At first, both Rohit and Virat Kohli had stiched a half-century partnership between them while later another 52-run partnership was seen between Ravindra Jadeja and Pandya.

Kohli showed some signs of return back to form with his 35-run knock off 34 balls while Jadeja also scored 35 runs off 39 balls. Pandya played till the penultimate over and when Jadeja lost his wicket in the very first ball of the final over, the match looked to ended in a thriller.

After a dot ball, Pandya nodded confidently and in the next ball, he smashed a stright six that flew over the fielder’s head, ending the innings in style. For Indian fans, Sunday night was spent well. Pandya was adjudged with the Player of the Match award.
