Much of the news, speculations and rumors about India’s tour of Australia revolved around India’s squad selection and specifically Rohit Sharma’s place in the squads. When the squads were announced for the first time on October 26 when the Indian Premier League was in full flow, Rohit was omitted from all three squads. The reason was believed to be a hamstring injury he had suffered during the IPL.

However, Rohit Sharma turned up and played his side Mumbai Indians’ last league match before playing the playoffs and the final where he scored a match-winning fifty. In the meantime, it was announced that skipper Virat Kohli would leave Australia after the first Test match and hence, Rohit was called up for Tests. However, doubts continue to be raised by cricketers and fans as to whether Rohit will find a place in the playing XI for the Tests.

Wasim Jaffer mercilessly trolls Brad Hogg

As the debate continues to rage about whether Rohit Sharma would find a place in India’s Test playing XI, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg took to Twitter to state that in Virat Kohli’s absence, current vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane would do well. He stated that Rohit is another option but since his place in the side is not certain, it wouldn’t be a good choice.

To this Tweet, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer replied with a hilarious meme that said “Aaja, aaja beta aaja” and captioned it, “No certainty of him holding a spot in the team” along with a laughing emoji insinuating that he feels Rohit’s spot is certain in the playing XI. This banter has caught the attention of fans who have all appreciated Jaffer’s humor.
