India proved a plethora of doubters wrong with a comprehensive win over Australia in the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The win was especially significant because of the fact that the visitors were bowled out for 36 in the second innings of the first Test before suffering a humiliating defeat. Soon after the defeat, former cricketers and experts predicted that Australia would end up winning the series 4-0.

However, even without the likes of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami in their line-up, India made a statement under stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane to draw level in the series. It was the captain himself who was instrumental in the same with excellent field placements and bowling changes apart from a commanding century in the first innings. With two more Tests to go, the all-important series in now evenly poised and can go either way.

Wasim Jaffer brutally trolls Michael Vaughan

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer is known to be quite active on social media with not only his analysis and opinions on matches but also his funny memes on the same. Today, following India’s win on Day 4, he took to Twitter to refer to a tweet made 10 days ago by former England captain Michael Vaughan. The Englishman had stated after the Adelaide debacle that India would get ‘hammered’ in the series and that a whitewash was on the cards. Jaffer then won the internet with a hilarious meme reply that read, “Pichli baar kya bola tha? Whitewash?”

After receiving a lot of responses to the tweet ridiculing him, Vaughan tweeted again congratulating India and stating that ‘winning against all the odds is always special’. The aforesaid tweets have gone viral on social media both for the prediction gone awry and Jaffer’s hilarious response.
