India vs Australia: Twitter explodes as India secure famous series win at the Gabba

India made history by breaching the Gabba fortress to beat Australia and seal one of their most famous victories in Test match history. Chasing an improbable 328 to win on the final day, India did the unthinkable thanks to lion-hearted knocks from Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant. A thrilling final hour ensued with India requiring almost 6 runs per over but Washington Sundar and Pant exploded to win it.

With the win, India retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy that they won in 2018-19 by the same score-line. The injury-ravaged Indian line-up was about as inexperienced a side as any that had been named against Australia and yet, India’s name in folklore was well and truly etched forever. Twitter exploded soon with appreciation and awe at India’s efforts.
