Marnus Labuschagne made his Test debut as a concussion substitute for Steve Smith during the Ashes 2019. Since then, he never looked back and is currently one of the most consistent batsmen in this format of the game. Moreover, everyone is aware of how Labuschagne idolises Smith.

Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne was spotted imitating Steve Smith during the inaugural Test match at the Adelaide Oval. One of the leading run-scorers of 2019, Labuschagne came out to bat at number three after the departure of Matthew Wade. The right-hander left the ball off Jasprit Bumrah in a weird fashion more like Smith and made an exaggerated noise of his mouth.

Following this, Labuschagne struggled a bit in the middle to find his touch with the bat. The Indian players also lent a few chances to the youngster after they dropped him at least two-three times during the innings. However, Labuschagne continued imitating Smith whenever he left a ball while shuffling at the crease. The 26-year old could not bat for too long as he got out after scoring a gritty 47.
