The Indian team is set to lock horns against the Aussies for the much-awaited Test series from December 17. The two sides will face each other at the Adelaide Oval for the opening Day/Night five-day match. India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane looked confident of his team’s chances against Australia in the longer format.
Ajinkya Rahane backed the pace attack of his team, despite the absence of their most experienced speedster Ishant Sharma. The 32-year old also stated that the team management hasn’t taken a call on their opening combination yet.
Talking about pace attack, Ajinkya Rahane said: “We do have a strong attack. We will miss Ishant because of his experience. But the other pacers have the experience. It is always about getting the momentum. What is important is to start well and stay in the present.”

“Quarantine was challenging. We got a practice session, and the preparation was good. We got time to practice and train. The two practice matches helped…”
“Everyone Is equally good. We have not decided on our combination. Everyone is equally talented. Whoever plays can win matches, it is about trusting the players,” Rahane said on India’s second opener vows.
Ashwin will have a good series: Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane talked about India’s lead spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin. The Maharashtra-born reckoned that the office would have a great series as he has a variety in bowling.
“Ashwin’s role will be very important, he has variety in bowling. I am sure he will have a very good series,” Rahane said about Ravichandran Ashwin.
“As a player, you go through ups and downs. For me, during the lockdown, fitness was the priority. After coming here, it was getting used to the conditions,” Rahane said on his batting performance.
