The stalwart from Mumbai, Suryakumar Yadav, gave a vent to his feelings after he received a call-up for Team India for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England on Saturday. Yadav is excited to represent the Indian Team for the white-ball-series scheduled next month.

Yadav, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and features for Mumbai in domestic cricket, has proven himself on many occasions. His batting stats in IPL 2020 speak a lot of his potential where he averaged 40.22 with his all-time high strike rate of 155.36.

Speaking to India Today Sports Consulting Editor Boria Majumdar on Sports Today, Suryakumar Yadav expressed the euphoric feeling that went past in his head on receiving the call-up news.

I am feeling proud that I am going to represent my country in the coming month. I think I went in the flash where everything from where I started cricket, how my parents supported me, everything started playing in my mind when I got the news yesterday,” Suryakumar said.

And I actually came from practice, I was sitting in the room, waiting to go for a shower and that time I got the news, I was very happy. I was just sitting in one place and thinking, there were a lot of butterflies, yes,” Suryakumar added.

The five-match T20I series against England will take place at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad from March 12 to 20.
