India vs England 2021: Shubman Gill misses field on Day 4 after suffering a forearm injury

Shubman Gill

Team India suffered a blow ahead of the Day 4 play as Shubman Gill didn’t take the field during the ongoing second Test against England in Chennai. Instead, the substitute player, Mayank Agarwal, has taken the field in Gill’s place.
The young player was fielding at the short leg position when he was hit on his left forearm by an attempted sweep from one of England batsmen. Though he continued to field yesterday, the officials kept him on the bench for Day 4 so that the injury doesn’t aggravate up.
BCCI confirmed Shubman Gill’s unavailability on Day 4 via a Tweet
“Shubman Gill sustained a blow on his left forearm while fielding on Day 3 of the 2nd Test. He has been taken for a precautionary scan. The BCCI Medical Team is assessing him. He won’t be fielding today,” the BCCI tweeted.
The 21-year-old fell cheaply in both innings he played for India in the ongoing second Test. However, he scored a half-century during the first Test match against England.
