India vs England 2021: Twitter erupts as third umpire makes a huge blunder by not checking for a catch against Ajinkya Rahane

Huge controversy erupted during the second Test between India and England after the third umpire made a woeful blunder to rule batsman Ajinkya Rahane as not out. In the 75th over of the match, with the Indian vice-captain batting on 66, England went for a review for an LBW against him. The third umpire decided only to check for the LBW and ruled it not out. But the ball had in fact struck Rahane’s glove before popping up to the fielder which meant it was out.
Soon after the decision was made, chaos erupted on social media. The umpires realized their mistake a bit later and decided to reinstate the review for England due to a mistake being made on their part. The wrong decision didn’t impact the match much however, as Rahane was out off the very next over off Moeen Ali‘s bowling. This is how Twitter reacted to the third umpire’s decision.
