Yet again, Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is in the spotlight in the ongoing Test series between India and England. It has been a fiercely fought series so far, Pant hasn’t failed to deliver his does of laughter throughout the series. While it is always his antics behind the stumps or his batting that gets him in the limelight, it was the bails this time around.

During play on day one at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the bails went missing momentarily stopping play. Following a direct hit from captain Virat Kohli, a bail found its way into Pant’s gloves who was there to collect the throw. The Indians were seen searching for it everywhere, even in Pant’s pads before the Delhi lad discovers it in his gloves. The hilarious incident was definitely a case for the renowned Sherlock Holmes or India’s own Byomkesh Bakshi.

India ended the first day of the fourth and final test against England as the happier of the two sides. And it was yet another excellent bowling performance that saw them bundle out the visitors for just 205 runs. England had won the toss and chose to bat first. But their plans went up in smoke as they kept losing wickets regularly.

In reply, India got off to a horror start as Shubman Gill was trapped in front by James Anderson for a duck off his third ball. Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara then played with great caution to take India to stumps unscathed. If India wins or draws the Test match, they will qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. A win for England will see Australia take on New Zealand in the WTC final at Lords.
