Gold Galore! Indian Women’s, Men’s and Mixed Team Sweep Compound World Archery Youth Championships 2021

World Youth Archery Championships- Indian women's Cadet Team Wins Gold

The World Archery Youth Championships 2021 are taking place in Wroclaw, Poland. India enjoyed success at the Championships, with 16 of the Indian teams making the medal matches over the last few days. The compound team in particular made their way to 5 gold medal matches on Thursday.

The first final for India were the Compound Cadet Women Team, who would go up against Turkey in the finals. The team of Praneeth Kaur, Priya Gujar and Senthil Kumar Ridhu Varshini cruised through the quarterfinals with a dominating win against Poland of 227-199. They crossed paths with Italy in the semifinals, as they managed to secure a place in the finals, winning 226-223.

The final medal match against Turkey saw an exceptional performance from the Indian women’s team, as they convincingly secured a victory 228-216, and the gold medal was clinched by the trio.

The compound cadet Men’s Team final was up next in the World Archery Youth Championships, and it was another spectacular performance for India. The men’s team made their way to the semifinals after beating Spain in a nervy finish 231-230. Sahil Chaudhary, Mihir Apar and Kushal Dadal had a tough fight on their hands in the semifinals, but they edged out Turkey 232-230 to reach the finals against USA.

The finals saw a clear domination from the Indian team, as they led from the beginning. The Team finished strong as they kept the momentum from the previous finals going as they clinched the gold medal 233-231.

India’s Mixed Compound Team Round off the Gold Medal Wins for India in the Team Events

The Indian Mixed Team Compound featured Priya Gujar and Kushal Dadal, both of whom had already clinched a gold medal in their respective team events, and Gujar would be going to the Individual finals the next day.

The pair did not disappoint, as they looked strong throughout the match. India clinched the third gold medal in the team events against the USA once again, as they won 155-152. This was a clean sweep for India in the cadet compound team events, as all three teams took home the gold.
