Since joining the Golden State Warriors via trade, Jimmy Butler has become their best perimeter defender and their No. 2 scoring option behind franchise superstar Stephen Curry.
That generally means that whenever the latest and most talked about sneaker free agent has an off night, his team and its fans expect the 6-time All-Star to step up.
He is also naturally expected to score anywhere between 20–25 points a game, as the Warriors look to hold on to a playoff spot in the tightly contested Western Conference.
In their last game, Curry went off after wearing ‘Mambacita’ Nike Kobe 6s during shootaround, scoring 49 points to down the San Antonio Spurs in front of their fans.
In that game, Jimmy Butler scored 21, as his contribution was enough to complement his illustrious teammate. However, a fan disagreed and decided to confront the 36-year-old star.
I put $3000 on your 30… Jimmy Butler, why didn’t you have 30 points? You work for Vegas?
The irate fan yelled
The fan saw the Marquette alum walk around and stopped to first hurl a bunch of curse words in his direction. Then he asked why Butler could not score 30 points.

The fan could have made some money had the Warriors’ star scored 9 more points. This altercation highlights the problem players face after sports betting was legalized by the NBA.
Jimmy Butler’s all-round effort helped Warriors win 3rd straight game
Jimmy Butler has been averaging around 19 points this season. For someone who has never averaged more than 24 throughout his career as the leading superstar, the fan might have been expecting a bit too much, especially when Stephen Curry was in form.

Even in their game earlier against the New Orleans Pelicans, the 6′ 6″ star scored just 18 points on a night when Curry went cold. In this game, it was the former’s all-round impact that helped the Golden State Warriors win their 3rd straight game.
Prior to this series of wins, the team was struggling with 5 losses in 7 games. During that trying period, Butler joined fellow veteran Draymond Green to question the agenda of some unnamed players.
It seems he decided to take it upon himself to show his team how it is done, as the guard set up his teammates for scores 10 times, and also stole the ball from the Pelicans three times.
Admittedly, their opponents are not in their best form and have just fired their head coach. Even then, Jimmy Butler’s defense and playmaking ensured his team continued its away winning streak.
Jimmy Butler will finish 6-game road trip at his former battleground
The Golden State Warriors are in the midst of a 6-game road trip, where the 1st four were against fellow Western Conference teams. Now, they head East, back to the state which Jimmy Butler called home for 5 and a half years.
He still has a house in Miami, and has friends and his coffee business. After their game against the Orlando Magic, the former Heat star will be able to meet his close ones again on November 19th.
Last time he visited, along with his Warriors teammates, their activities before their game against his former team came under fire. Hopefully, this time they will stay away from enjoying too much, as the Heat are also in decent form.
If Jimmy Butler and his teammates can maintain their focus, they could steal a win or two, head back home, and win 3 relatively easy games to round out this month. By then, they should be back into the thick of the fight at the top of the West.
