Inter Milan 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen: Inter just two wins away to win their 4th Europa League Title

Inter Milan progress to the semi-finals after 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen and are just two away from lifting the Europa League title.

Nicolo Barella opened the scoring for Inter after Leverkusen made mess at the back. Ashley Young after gaining possession pings it to Romelu Lukaku who tests Leverkusen keeper Lukas Hradecky who denied the Belgian’s attempt however ball falls perfectly for Barella who turned it in to make it 1-0 in the 15^th minute of the first half.

The Belgian goal machine Romelu Lukaku also made it to the scoresheet minutes later. Following good ball by Ashley Young, Lukaku held against Edmond Tapsoba with physical strength before finding the back of the net.

Leverkusen pulled one back 24 minutes in when Samir Handanovic’s shaky goalkeeping allowed Kai Havertz’s rasping shot to rocket it into the roof of the net to make it 2-1.

Lukaku once in every half put the ball on the penalty spot. However, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) over-ruled all the judgments given by Carlos Grande (match official).

Inter Milan would now take on Shakhtar Donetsk or FC Basel in the semi-finals for their run to their 4th Europa League title.
