Inter Milan struggling to put up a team for Milan Derby
Inter Milan are backed into a corner after six of their players have tested positive for coronavirus in the past one week. In this case, the players who have tested positive are Ashley Young, Defenders Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar, midfielders Radja Nainggolan and Roberto Gagliardini and reserve goalkeeper Ionut Radu.
What this means for Inter Milan:
Inter have been on unbeaten run so far and have collected 7 points. Although, they face a tough task as they face AC Milan next who are on a resurgent run of form. Moreover, Antonio Conte has to deal with the fact that many of his players will be returning from international break. On the other hand, In a huge boost for AC Milan, Zlatan seems to have recovered from Coronavirus. Conte will be happy with the form of his strikers Lukaku and Martinez as both scored during international games. Thus, he will be expecting them to win the game for him.
Inter Milan have no option but to play the game as Seria A has made strict guidelines. They have stated that if a minimum of 13 players are eligible to play, the game must go on. For instance, Napoli opted not to play against Juventus after some of their players tested positive for Covid. So Seria awarded a 3-0 win to Juventus on default. Furthermore, with both teams looking to challenge Juventus for the title, this has become a must win game.
Therefore, Inter Milan will be hoping that Conte can put up a tactical masterclass and lead them to victory against AC Milan. Anything other than win will put huge pressure on Inter as Juventus will take an unassailable lead at the top of the table.
