The start of the IPL 2020 was not very good for Ruturaj Gaikwad who contracted Covid-19 before the CSK’s team training camp. Even though he covered and made a comeback on the field his start was poor as he got out for a first-ball duck. In the next game as well he failed to improve his batting and as a result was dropped from the side.
CSK particularly had a very offseason in its 13-year history of IPL. Later on, Gaikwad was given a chance to showcase his batting talent after CSK were out for the race of the playoffs. Gaikwad this time played classy knocks as he scored three fifties in a row in 6 games. He made 204 runs in 6 games of the tournament with the highest score of 72.
