The fans witnessed yet another thrilling season of Indian Premier League (IPL) during the 2020 edition of the event. Soon after the tournament ended, former Indian all-rounder Ajit Agarkar formed his best XI of the season.

Starting with the openers, Agarkar picked two left-handers in the form of Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner and Delhi Capitals opener, Shikhar Dhawan. The duo ended as the second and the third highest run-getters of the tournament. Surprisingly, the former cricketer left out the ‘Orange Cap’ winner and Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul.

For the middle-order batsmen, Agarkar picked Mumbai Indians’ duo of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav along with AB de Villiers from Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kishan and Yadav ended as the top two Indian run-scorers for their franchise. On the other hand, de Villiers won several matches single-handedly for RCB in IPL 2020.

Ajit Agarkar went with the obvious choices of Jasprit Bumrah (MI) and Kagiso Rabada (DC) to lead the pace attack of his team. The two speedsters ended as the top two wicket-takers of the tournament. Coming to the spin department, the 42-year old went with Yuzvendra Chahal (RCB) and KKR’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. Surprisingly, there was no place for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan who ended as the most economical bowler of IPL 2020.
