Rajasthan Royals (RR) have included Ben Stokes in their playing XI for the Indian Premier League match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the first time this season. Stokes had missed out on RR’s first six games as he had to tend to his ailing father in New Zealand. He arrived in UAE a few days ago and underwent quarantine protocols before becoming available for selection.
Stokes’ return to the playing XI will be a big boost for the Royals as they have evidently missed his exploits with both bat and ball in the middle order. RR’s middle order has looked fragile and been the reason for the team’s poor showings. Stokes’ bowling will also be a huge boost for the Royals.
Sunrisers bat first
The game between SRH and RR is being played at Dubai. SRH have won the toss and chosen to bat first. A win today would be crucial for SRH in their bid to make the playoffs. They are coming off the back of a facile win over Kings XI Punjab.
RR on the other hand will look to put the four consecutive losses behind them with a win to get their season back on track.
