Sunrisers Hyderabad in CSK vs SRH

Chennai Super Kings(CSK) lost their third game in a row after a close finish to Sunrisers Hyderabad target of 165 runs. SRH Allround performance with Bat and Bowl brought their second win in IPL 2020.

CSK chasing a target of 165 runs set by SRH, started slowly and lost wickets at regular intervals. Only Ravindra Jadeja and MS DHoni were able to make a good partnership for the CSK. Jadeja brought up his maiden fifty in IPL history but fell soon after. With 63 required off the final three overs, Dhoni and Sam Curran brought CSK closer after a few big hits. Dhoni tried his best to take CSK to the finish but struggled to time the ball and got injured in the last over. However, the seriousness of the injury is yet to be ascertained.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar suffered a strain in his hamstring bowling the penultimate over of the game. He limped off the pitch and Khaleel Ahmed finished the over. The final over was bowled by Abdul Samad who gave away 20 runs but SRH managed to win the game.SRH bowlers were clinical as usual with T Natrajan and Bhuvaneshwar picking up important wickets of Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson respectively. Rashid Khan was economical with the ball and gave away just 12 runs in four overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner won the toss and chose to bat first. The start for SRH wasn’t good as in-form Jonny Bairstow got clean bowled to Deepak Chahar in the very first over of the game. David Warner along with Manish Pandey tried to escort SRH but both fell within the 11 overs. Kane Williamson was run-out after a miscommunication with youngster Priyam Garg.

Priyam Garg the Indian U-19  skipper then made a partnership with Abhishek Sharma of 77 runs. He went on to make his maiden IPL half-century in his debut season for the SRH. He was the top-scorer of SRH innings with 51 runs off just 26 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Sharma made a gritty 31 runs in the process.

The two youngsters steered the falling SRH innings to a respectable target of 164/5 in 20 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has now won their second game in a row in IPL 2020 after losing their opening two games.SRH are joint toppers of the IPL points table with 4 points.

While Chennai Super Kings are in their worst start of the season in their IPL history. CSK have now lost 3 games in a row after managing to defeat Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2020 opener. CSK remains at the bottom of the table with 2 points.

CSK will now face Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, while the Sunrisers will take on Mumbai Indians at Sharjah on the same day.
