IPL 2020: Big Bash Star Daniel Sams makes debut for Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have handed a debut to 27-year-old Daniel Sams who was the highest wicket-taker in the Australian Big Bash last year. Sams made his First-Class debut for New South Wales back in 2017. The left-arm fast bowler, is also a good lower down the order. The left-arm seamer had a brilliant Big Bash League campaign last year for the Sydney Thunder, where he ended up 30 wickets in 17 games- the most by any bowler in the history of the competition and the fifth most by any bowler in a Twenty20 tournament.
Sams was called up to replace the injured Jason Roy in the Delhi Capitals’ team after the latter pulled out with an injury. Now that his side are sitting pretty at the top of the table, they have the breathing space to rest their star players. That is exactly what they’ve done as they have rested Anrich Nortje and handed a debut to Sams.
Delhi Capitals bat first against Kings XI Punjab
Delhi Capitals are on a roll at the moment. They are on top of the table having won 7 matches out of their first 9. They face a resurgent Kings XI Punjab who have stitched together two wins a row for the first time in the tournament, their second one being an inexplicable double-super-over thriller.
Delhi Capitals have brought in Rishabh Pant, Shimron Hetmeyer and Daniel Sams for Alex Carey, Ajinkya Rahane and Anrich Nortje while Kings XI Punjab have brought in Jimmy Neesham for the bowler of the second super over in the previous game i.e. Chris Jordan.
