Faf du Plessis could be a replacement to CSK vice-captain Suresh Raina. However, they will have to balance the squad as only 4 overseas players allowed. CSK will look to strengthen the bowling department with the arrival of Lungi Ngidi.

The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India has laid down a strict protocol for the health and safety of everyone. This states that players will have to quarantine themselves in their hotel room for the next 6 days. Faf and Ngidi are likely to start preparatory camp after 6 days of isolation.

The tournament will be played in 3 venues Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. BCCI will soon release the schedule for the tournament.
