Gautam Gambhir was full praise for Kieron Pollard as he backed him to perform good in this IPL season as well. Gambhir who bid goodbye to cricket in 2018 is still connected to the game through shows like Cricket Connected.
The cricketer-turned Member of Parliament in his recent chat on the show ‘Cricket Connected’ showered praise for the West Indies all-rounder.
Pollard’s amazing form in CPL
Pollard has been in a tremendous form this CPL 2020. The hard-hitting all-rounder has guided his team Trinbago Knight Riders to the top of the table. Now he will now be looking forward to winning the title.
Also, the cricketer from Trinidad has been amazing with the bat himself. As in 9 matches, he has smashed 207 runs at an average of 51.75. The former Indian opener Gambhir said that the MI will be delighted on seeing the form Pollard is in right now.
Gambhir’s advice to Mumbai Management
In the show itself, Gambhir had a little advice to the Mumbai Indians franchise. He said that Mumbai should promote Pollard up the order. He further said that the franchise should make sure that they don’t send Pollard below Number 4 or 5.
Gambhir said, “The main thing is to see how Mumbai Indians use him. Mahela Jayawardene will be the happiest to see Kieron Pollard’s batting. If you want to use Kieron Pollard’s form, then you should not send Kieron Pollard below No.4 or No.5 in the batting order because you have firepower.”
Mumbai Indians have always sent Kieron Pollard at 6th or 7th. As Gambhir said Mumbai can make the most out of Pollard’s current form only if he is promoted up the order.
