After a dream run in the business end of the league, Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s luck ran out against Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier last night. The Shreyas Iyer led side ended SRH’s four-match winning streak as they comfortably won the game by 17 runs and booked their maiden IPL final. David Warner‘s Orange Army fell short in all departments in the crucial game.

Although they had a tough, injury-marred season, there were a lot of positives as well. Through their hard-fought journey to the playoffs, SRH discovered new match-winners in Jason Holder, Manish Pandey and young Abdul Samad. But it was an uncapped Indian quick who caught captain Warner’s eye this season.

SRH’s find of this IPL

It is none other than SRH’s newfound death bowler T Natarajan. The young bowler has impressed everyone with his accurate yorkers and disciplined bowling. And Warner is no exception as he went on to hail him as “find of this IPL”. Natarajan achieved the feat of bowling the most yorkers in the tournament with the number going above 160.

First and foremost, no one gave us a chance at the start. Mumbai has a great team, Delhi as well, and RCB, but I’m proud to be where we are today,” Warner in the post-match presentation.

Natarajan is a find of this IPL, and he’s been outstanding. Rashid has been amazing, and so has Manish Pandey at No. 3. From an all-round perspective, it’s been great. I’d like to thank all our supporters at home.

The explosive opener cites poor fielding for the loss against DC. Warner points out that the attitude on the field is crucial in high-pressure games. Talking about the injuries, which haunted them this season, Warner admits that it has been tough but players have stepped up to fill the big shoes. SRH first lost Bhuvneswar Kumar and Mitch Marsh before losing in form Wriddhiman Saha to injury this season.

The main thing is attitude in the field. You can’t win if you don’t take catches, so that, we’ll have to do much better next time – that’s what’s let us down in this tournament – the attitude on the field,” said the explosive opener from Australia. “It (injuries) has been difficult, but the rest of the players have been excellent in their roles to get us where we have gotten today.

Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will play the final of the IPL 2020 on 10th November at the Dubai International Stadium.
