IPL 2020: ‘A reason to be dropped’, Irfan Pathan posts cryptic tweet amidst MS Dhoni’s struggles
Following Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League 2020, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has posted a strange and cryptic tweet which appears to be directed at CSK skipper MS Dhoni on his Twitter handle. Dhoni struggled to hit big shots in yesterday’s match against SRH. He labored to 47 runs off 36 balls and was unable to finish the game for his side who were chasing a total of 165. Dhoni was also visibly tired and exhausted which led to him taking short breaks in between deliveries.
Following Dhoni’s struggles at the crease yesterday, the 35-year-old Irfan Pathan has posted a tweet saying age is a reason for people to be dropped.
Age is a number for some. For others, a reason to be dropped – Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan, who is active on social media has grabbed a lot of eyeballs with his tweet. Although he did not mention Dhoni’s name, it looks evident that it is directed at the CSK skipper.
“Age is just a number for some and for others a reason to be dropped” read the tweet. Pathan was a member of the victorious 2007 T20 WC and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy teams. He also played under Dhoni for CSK and Rising Pune Supergiants. However, he didn’t get a lot of starts or opportunities for these sides which were captained by Dhoni.
