Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jofra Archer is known for his old tweets becoming prophecies by coming true. His old tweets were at it again after the Englishman dismissed Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) Chris Gayle for a score of 99 runs.

Put in to bat first by RR, KXIP lost their opener Mandeep Singh in the first over to a bouncer from Archer. KL Rahul and Gayle then joined hands and stitched together a partnership of 120 runs. Gayle was the aggressor as he kept hitting sixes at will. His innings consisted of 8 sixes and six fours. In the last over, Gayle fell to Jofra Archer as the latter ripped through the former’s defenses.

Gayle reacted angrily to the dismissal by flinging his bat but all was well as he shook hands with Archer soon after. KXIP’s final score was a competitive 185. However, RR chased it down with ease as the likes of Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson and Steve Smith came out all guns blazing. The target was achieved in less than 18 overs by the Royals.

Fans dig up Jofra Archer’s old Tweets

Immediately after Gayle’s dismissal, fans were quick to dig up Jofra Archer’s old prophetic tweets. And as is the case usually, Archer had tweeted something relevant in 2013. He had tweeted saying, “I know if I was bowling I know he wasn’t getting da 100”. This was exactly what happened yesterday as Archer prevented Gayle from getting his 100.

Another tweet of Archer’s also turned out to predictive. This was a 2016 tweet where Archer had said, “Cg don’t hurt yourself boy” referring to Chris Gayle. Following his dismissal, Gayle could have hurt himself from his angry bat-flinging reaction thereby making this another case of ‘Jofradamus’.
