IPL 2020: Looking forward to some sporting action – Farhan Akhtar to promote ‘Toofan’ during opener in Abu Dhabi

With only few hours to go for live action of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Abu Dhabi, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar will be seen promoting his upcoming movie ‘Toofan‘ during the pre-game show at Star Sports ‘Cricket Live‘ on Saturday.

The actor-filmmaker has gone through ardous training for the role of a national level boxer in the film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. This will not be actor’s first sports film, he has also played the role of a veteran runner in Milkha Singh’s biopic, which was a huge success at the box office.

Akhtar will be at the show at 6:00 PM IST.

Farhan said, “These are trying times and our nation continues to persevere and move forward. With the world picking up pace in the new normal, the announcement of the IPL was a breath of fresh air. I have been looking forward to some sporting action, and LIVE Indian cricket is back after a long hiatus.”

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings, the two most successful teams of the tournament, will provide ample fodder for the fans, who will be watching their favourite players on TV screens this time due to ravaging pandemic.

There will be 10 double headers this season and both the afternoon and evening matches will start half an hour earlier from 3.30 PM IST and 2.00 PM UAE time and 7:30 PM IST and 6:00 PM UAE time, respectively.

24 matches are planned to be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi and 12 will be hosted by Sharjah. Playoffs venues for the Dream11 IPL 2020 final will be announced later.
