The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been in trouble since they reached to United Arab Emirates (UAE). 13 members of the franchise have tested positive for COVID-19 which includes two Indian players Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaekward.
The quarantine period was extended for the players and there was no training possible for the side.
However, the good news is apart from Chahar and Gaikwad all other players have been tested negative for the dreadful virus. They also finished their isolation period and they will be starting training soon.
CSK took to social media handle and shared a picture from the breakfast area. The former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and the former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni can be seen having a conversation in the picture.
“Watto Thala Dharisanam,” CSK captioned the post written in Tamil which translates to “A glimpse of Watson and MS Dhoni“.
The struggle prolongs
CSK suffered a huge blow as the vice-captain Suresh Raina pulled out of the IPL 2020 due to personal reason.
Meanwhile, again the franchise has bad news as their veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh also pulled out of the entire season due to personal reason. The franchise is expected to announce the replacement soon.
Evaluating the latest consequences, schedule announcement has been delayed and it is expected to announce on Friday, September 4th.
Sixty IPL games will be played over 53 days across three venues – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The opening match of the season will be played on September 19.
