IPL 2020 – Rajasthan Royals first to reach UAE followed by Kolkata Knight Riders

RR and KKR reach UAE

As the IPL commences from September 19, Rajasthan Royals became the 1st team to reach UAE. As the Board of Control for Cricket in India had advised all franchisees to start travelling to the Emirates from August 21, various teams have touched the overseas land.

Kolkata Knight Riders have also reached the destination. Their official twitter handle, tweeted about their players reaching Abu Dhabi. After reaching, all players are supposed to undergo a 6-day quarantine period. After which, a round of Covid tests would take place before training commences.

Kings XI Punjab team is also on their way to UAE. KXIP’s official handle shared pictures and videos of the players and support staff inside the Dubai-bound aircraft as well as afterwards, dressed in PPE kits and adhering to safety measures. 

Mumbai Indians as well as Chennai Super Kings will also reach UAE by today or tomorrow. The inaugural match of IPL 2020 is set to a cracker, as it is finals of last year’s IPL. 

A UK-Based Company, called Restrata have seized the deal for Bio-safety bubble for all the teams. The same company was in charge of 2 Test series in England and has shown amazing results. 

The 13th edition of the IPL in the UAE will be played for 53 days, from September 19 to November 10, across three venues — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. For the first time in the history of the league, the final would be played on a weekday, i.e. Tuesday.
