Star Sports signs 13 sponsors for IPL 2020

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to begin from September 19, 2020. This year, the IPL will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in India.

Ahead of the tournament, the official broadcasting partner of IPL 2020, Star Sports Network has released the list of 13 sponsors and partners. Dream 11 bought the official rights to the title sponsorship of IPL 2020 while Star India signed the fantasy gaming application as one of their co-presenting sponsors.

Alongside Dream 11, Phone Pe, Amazon, and Byju’s are the other three co-presenting sponsors for the 13th edition of the IPL.

The official broadcasters also signed Polycab, USL, Coca Cola, ITC, Mondelez, Kamla Pasand, Rummy Circle, AMFI, and P&G as the associate sponsors.

More than 60 advertisers in Dream 11 IPL

Apart from the 13 sponsors, a report also claims that Star Sports has signed more than 60 advertisers ahead of this season. These advertisers include big names like FMCG giants including Coca Cola, ITC, Mondelez, P&G, Nestle, Colgate, Britannia, GSK, Reckitt etc.

The Star Sports officials also mentioned that this year they saw some new categories other than the traditional companies. Businesses from sectors such as online shopping, edu-tech, BFSI, fantasy sports and auto have also joined hands with them for IPL in UAE.

The officials also revealed that the demand from the advertisers was more than any other year for IPL 13. Both in terms of advertisers and the amount of ad spends, a significant rise is seen.

“The network has witnessed heavy demand from brands, given the fact that Dream 11 IPL cuts across gender and ages.”
