Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) management have announced that West Indies Test Captain Jason Holder will replace all-rounder Mitchell Marsh after the latter suffered ankle injury during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Marsh could bowl only three balls before the injury happened. Although, the Australian bowler did try to continue but was seen limping and trudging before hobbling out.

It is being reported that Marsh has been ruled out of the entire season, adding to SRH woes amidst a flurry of injuries, which also includes star leg spinner Rashid Khan.

Khan had collided with Abhishek Sharma in the match against RCB. The collision looked nasty and Khan had to be given treatment on the field. Although, he continued to bat in the match.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has also missed the opening game of the IPL due to an injury at the practice session.

SRH skipper David Warner had announced Williamson’s unavailability at the presser in the opening game of SRH. It is unconfirmed if Williamson will be available for the matches to come.

The hyderabad-based team have a good pack of foreign players: Mohammad Nabi, Billy Stanlake and Fabian Allen. Holder can also fit in as an all-rounder for the team.

SRH lost its opening game by 10 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next game on Saturday.
