Sunrisers Hyderabad stormed into the playoffs after a crushing 10 wicket victory over league leaders Mumbai Indians. Put in to bat first, MI had a rough start as Sandeep Sharma sent both the openers, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock, packing in the span of two overs. MI was not able to recover from the double strike and were restricted to a modest 149. SRH chased down the total without losing a wicket.

Former Australia chinaman bowler Brad Hogg is mighty impressed with Sandeep’s consistency. Hogg opines that if not for the veteran pacer, SRH would never have had been able to fill the hole Bhuvneswar Kumar‘s injury left in the side. With the two early wickets against MI, Sandeep broke Zaheer Khan‘s record to become the bowler with most wickets in the powerplay in the history of IPL.

Sandeep Sharma from #SRH standing up yet again, underrated player. He showed that he deserves higher honours stepping up and covering the loss of Bhuvi. His consistency was the most impressive thing for me in this IPL,” Hogg’s tweet read.

The 49-year-old spinner is overjoyed the way Wriddhiman Saha has shined since his promotion to the top of the order. Hogg commends the SRH team management for taking a risk as great as dropping an in-form Jonny Bairstow at the business end of the league. But Saha, who has been fabulous at the top of the order, proved the decision right having scored 184 runs in his three innings.

Great to see @Wriddhipops dominate at the top of the order. Breaking up the Bairstow/Warner partnership was a calculated risk to provide better balance to the team and it paid off massively. Fantastic when a move comes off,” he tweeted.

SRH face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator on Friday at Abu Dhabi. The David Warner led side must be confident coming off three straight wins against the top teams of the league.
