Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) to boost their slim chances of making it to the playoffs.

MI, who won the toss and chose to bat first got off to a bad start as they lost Quinton de Kock in the first over. However, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav revived the innings with some brisk hitting. There was then a slump in the middle overs as MI lost wickets in a heap. Hardik Pandya then launched a stunning assault as he struck 27 runs apiece of overs bowled by Ankit Rajpoot and Kartik Tyagi. The final score read a mammoth 195 with Hardik finishing not out on 60 off 21 balls.

In the chase, RR came out all guns blazing and despite losing Robin Uthappa and Steve Smith early, Ben Stokes cut loose and never looked back. Along with Sanju Samson, who got to a half-century, Stokes took his side home with a stunning century with ease and pulled off a stunning chase for his side.
