Cometh the hour, cometh Indian Premier League (IPL). A tournament that encapsulates almost every facet of cricket. From enthralling endurance of experienced campaigners taking their team aground to thrilling cameos by young guns, the glitz of the tournament is second to none.

And the cricket extravaganza is now just days away to enchant its fans. The first match will see defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) locking horns with old guards Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Apart from raining sixes and boudaries, the cash-rich league is also known for tapping the potential of youth. With it, they get the chance to showcase their talent at the highest level.

Priyam Garg is a 19-year-old cricketer from Uttar Pradesh, who captained India in the U-19 World Cup in 2020. However, he missed out on the WC trophy after losing to Bangladesh in the finals.

He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the auction for 1.9 crores.

The right-handed player is a gutsy batsman and could prove to be an important player for SRH.

4. Devdutt Padikkal

The 20-year-old left-handed batsman from Karnataka is an exciting young prospect to look-out for in IPL 2020. Devdutt Padikkal born in Kerala but represents Karnataka after his family settled in the state.

An attacking left-hander Padikkal can also bowl off-spin as a part-time option which could prove out be handy for Virat Kohli and RCB. He has shown impressive batting skills in the Vijay Hajare trophy and the Karnataka Premier League(KPL). Playing for the Karnataka Ranji trophy side, Padikkal played important knocks one after another.

After his spectacular performance in Ranji Trophy 2019, he was picked by Royal Challangers Bangalore for 20 lakhs.

Padikkal missed out his debut in last season’s IPL, however, if given a chance he could lighten up this season’s Indian Premier League(IPL)

3. Tom Banton

Tom Banton is an English cricketer who made his debut for England in 2019. He was picked for BBL, PSL, and IPL. He made his ODI debut for England in Feb 2020 against South Africa.

KKR picked Banton to fill the void of Chris Lynn. The 21-year-old wicket-keeper batsman can play the role of a dynamic opening batsman for the two time champions.

Team’s mentor David Hussey said that Banton is the new version of Kevin Pieterson and has the x-factor in him to succeed in the IPL.

2. Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi made his name in the cricketing world by picking 17 wickets in the U-19 Cricket World Cup. He was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament and picked up 17 wickets with four scalps in the finals.

Unfortunately, Bishnoi couldn’t take India to victory in the finals of the tournament.

Kings XI Punjab purchased the young leg spinner from Rajasthan for 2 crores. The wrist-spinner has the potential to become a future star in the Indian national side. He is currently working with his idol, Anil Kumble, in the Punjab squad.

Bishnoi could prove his worth if given a chance in the tournament by KXIP.

Yashasvi Jaiswal plays for Mumbai in the Ranji trophy and also made it into the Indian team in the U-19 cricket World Cup.

With 400 runs under his belt, Jaiswal, the highest run-getter in the tournament was only dismissed thrice. He scored a match-winning century in the semi-finals against Pakistan and was adjudged as the player of the tournament.

Jaiswal became the youngest Indian player to score a List-A double century at the age of 17. After his impressive performances, Rajasthan Royals picked him for 2.40 crore in the auctions.

The 18-year-old batsman hasn’t put a foot wrong in his career so far. He is the debutant to watch out for in the Indian Premier League 2020.
