Mumbai Indians (MI) face Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League final tomorrow. MI took the shortest path to the summit clash by defeating DC in Qualifier-1 while DC had to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier-2 to qualify for their first-ever IPL final.

Something that has been crucial to MI’s terrific performances in this year’s IPL has been their pace attack led by Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. The two have picked up 49 wickets between them and have been a key reason for MI’s easy journey to the IPL final. In Qualifier-1, Boult wreaked havoc by picking up two early wickets for his side that went a long way in helping MI win. However, the New Zealander could not complete his quota of 4 overs as he suffered a groin injury and left the field.

‘Hopefully he plays’ – Rohit on Boult

In a video posted by the Mumbai Indians’ official Twitter handle, Trent Boult was seen bowling to the MI batters. This came as a huge relief and good news to MI fans. However, questions continue to remain on his availability.

Today, when asked by Hindustan Times as to Boult’s injury updates, MI captain Rohit Sharma said that the bowler is expected to play on Tuesday. “Trent looks pretty good. He’s gonna have a session today with all of us, he has pulled up pretty well in the last two days. So, fingers crossed, hopefully he plays,” Sharma said.

If the New Zealander plays, it will be a big boost for MI in their quest to win a record 5th IPL title.
