IPL 2020: ‘We just kept our basics right,’ says Suryakumar Yadav after MI’s comfortable win over KKR

Mumbai Indians’ (MI) batsman Suryakumar Yadav said that his side was able to tick all the boxes, which helped them ease past Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 49 runs.
Yadav also said that he is open to the start the innings for MI if given an opportunity by the management.
At a presser after the match, he said, “Talking about batting, it was a brilliant wicket, during the last game we had a chat as a group of getting 180 odd runs. In the match against KKR, we ticket that box completely. We just kept our basics right.”
Yadav was full of praise for his skipper Rohit Sharma
When asked about the performance of his skipper Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav said, “I think he is a world class batsman and he knows what dimensions are there on the ground. Even at Wankhede, when he goes out to bat he keeps it very simple and the same thing he has been carrying to Abu Dhabi as well. Yes, the boundaries are big but I don’t think there is any drastic change. He just kept things very very simple. He played his natural game, what he is known for, and the result is there in front of you.”
When Yadav was asked if he wants to open for Mumbai Indians he replied, “That is completely team management’s call. I have loved opening for Mumbai Indians for the past two years and whenever they give me the opportunity, I would love that.”
