IPL 2021: AB de Villiers reveals his favourite shot after match-winning knock against Delhi Capitals

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continued with their winning run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The Virat Kohli-led side clinched their fifth victory of the season during the game against Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 22 of IPL 2021. RCB are also currently placed at the pole position in the Points Table.
RCB batsman AB de Villiers once again came to their rescue with his miraculous knock of 75* runs in just 42 balls. The Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman revealed that his favourite shot in the match was the six off Kagiso Rabada’s delivery over mid-wicket. De Villiers ended his inning with three fours and five gigantic sixes.
“The shot over extra cover (off the bowling of Marcus Stoinis) was certainly one of the best shots, no offence to KG (Kagiso Rabada), my shot off him one over midwicket was my best one. I don’t often get him away, but I’m happy I managed to get him away for that one,” said AB de Villiers during the post-match presentation.

Ab de Villiers also talked about the importance of going fresh to bat while receiving the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his astonishing knock. The 37-year old added that RCB have got several experienced players alongside young Indian bowlers that form a perfect balance for their side.
“Once you’re into the tournament, it’s more about managing yourself, make sure you’re fresh every game. You can’t go into the game feeling fatigued. I’ve really done some work at home and we have treadmills in the room. I’ve done all the work and now it’s all about being as fresh as I can when I go out to bat.
We’ve got a couple of experienced heads and a couple of young Indian bowlers who have done well in international cricket recently. Myself, Maxi and Virat have played a lot. We just try to have fun out there. I’ve forced myself to savour it,” De Villiers told.
