David Warner

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) decision to remove David Warner from captaincy and from the playing XI was not taken to nicely by fans when the same was announced. Following the Orange Army’s poor display in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), the backlash only increased. Now, ahead of SRH’s match today against Mumbai Indians (MI), it has been trending on Twitter for quite some time now with the hashtag #BringBackWarner.

Sunrisers Hyderabad announced the change in captaincy through an official statement released on social media which stated that the management has taken the decision to not only change the captain of SRH, but also to modify the overseas combination of the side. This led to Warner being dropped for the match against RR where Mohammad Nabi came in place, but wasn’t able to impress.

David Warner has been trending on Twitter ever since SRH’s announcement to change captaincy. Further, when the visibly emotional Australian was seen carrying drinks for his side, the voices only grew louder. Now, as SRH play defending champions MI in Delhi, fans are demanding that the management bring back the opening batsman.

SRH are in dire straits at the moment with just one win in seven matches and unless a spectacular turnaround occurs, the Orange Army won’t be able to make it to the playoffs. However, fans have been holding on to their hopes due to the fact that SRH have come back from tricky situations in the past including IPL 2020 albeit not as tricky as this year.

Now, in order to spark such a turnaround, fans have highlighted the importance of David Warner. Here are some tweets asking SRH to bring him back.
