IPL 2021: ‘Manish Pandey should take a break for a couple of matches,’ says Pragyan Ojha

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsman Manish Pandey once again had a poor outing during the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This time Pandey’s flop show came against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) where he got out after scoring just two runs off seven balls.

The Karnataka batsman received massive criticism for his slow strike rate during SRH’s previous two matches as well. Manish Pandey also failed to finish those two games for his side after getting out at crucial stages. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Pragyan Ojha said that Pandey should be given a break for a couple of matches to think about his game.

“No. 3, it is a very crucial position. He has to deliver. Match after match, the pressure mounts. People who are watching can make out that Manish Pandey is not delivering.

“At times, you must take a backseat, take a couple of games break and then think about your game. When you’re playing continuously and you’re not doing well, you might not know what is happening and what is not. You need to take a pause,” Pragyan Ojha said.

‘SRH needs Kedar Jadhav’: Ojha

Kedar Jadhav

Pragyan Ojha mentioned that the Sunrisers need someone like Kedar Jadhav to add experience to their middle-order. He added that Jadhav’s part-time spin bowling will also help the franchise. The Hyderabad-based side roped in the Indian all-rounder during this year’s auctions for the base price of INR 2 crores.

“You need someone like Kedar Jadhav. If you see that middle-order, it did not carry forward the hard work done by David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. Maybe they can look in for Kedar Jadhav who can deliver because I think they have a few more games in Chennai. He can deliver some handy off-spin and give some stability in the batting,” Pragyan Ojha further said.
