IPL 2021: ‘We need to do some homework’ – Sanju Samson reflects on RR’s 10 wicket mauling at RCB’s hands

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continued their dream run in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 as they notched up their fourth win of the season. Batting woes continued to haunt Rajasthan Royals (RR) as RCB handed them a ten-wicket loss. The game saw young gun Devdutt Padikkal return to form following a couple of low scores.
Following a top-order collapse, the young guns of Rajasthan rose to the occasion to save the day. Shivam Dube, Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag helped the side to a respectable score of 177. But Dube and Tewatia’s efforts went in vain as the RR bowlers failed majestically at defending the total. RCB chased down the total with 21 balls to spare to regain their spot atop the points table.
“We need an honest review about our batting,” Sanju Samson
RR captain Sanju Samson is all praises for the way his side bounced back following a top-order collapse. The young skipper asserts that “an honest review” is what the batting unit needs. He promises that his side will be back stongly.
“Our batsmen did really well to get a score on the board but they did really well to chase without losing a wicket. We need to do some homework and need an honest review about our batting. That’s what this sport is all about, we keep on failing and we keep on coming about. It puts you down but you have to keep on fighting,” Samson said following the game.
The loss has forced Rajasthan to the bottom of the IPL points table. The franchise seem to be dearly missing the English duo of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer who have been ruled out with injuries.
