IPL 2021: WATCH – Shivam Mavi hilariously takes revenge on Prithvi Shaw for hitting six fours in his over
Prithvi Shaw and Shivam Mavi
Prithvi Shaw was the star of the show for Delhi Capitals (DC) yesterday as he guided his side to victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a 82-run knock in just 41 balls while chasing a score of 155. The win took DC to the second spot on the table just behind Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on net run-rate while KKR were put in a real spot of bother, having won just two out of seven matches.
Prithvi Shaw was awarded the Man of the Match for his performance as he gave DC a flying start right from the first ball of the second innings. He took on Shivam Mavi in the first over and hit him for six fours. He then kept striking the ball cleanly and finding the gaps. The youngster looked near-unstoppable and although he fell towards the end, he had done the job by then as DC cruised home.
Watch – Shivam Mavi gets his revenge on Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw made history yesterday when he became only the second batsman in IPL history to score six fours in an over. He was also the first to do it in the opening over. The victim was bowler Shivam Mavi, his teammate from his U-19 days as skipper of the victorious Indian side. The fast bowler who had been impressive in the previous match could not stop the marauding Shaw as he kept finding the fence at will.
After the match, Shaw and Mavi were seen catching up and involving in some banter. The latter then playfully got his revenge on Shaw by getting hold of his arm and neck, even as Shaw shouted in pain. This moment was captured by the cameras and the official account of the IPL captioned it, “Once the match is completed, friendship takes over. The beauty of VIVO IPL.” The video has now gone viral.
