Last year’s runner-ups Delhi Capitals (DC) is scheduled to lock horns with David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 25 in match 20 of IPL 2021. The two sides will be up against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai from 7:30 PM onwards.
DC assistant coach Mohammad Kaif acknowledged that the in-form SRH spinner Rashid Khan could be a threat in front of their batsmen. Khan has been one of the best bowlers of this tournament so far with five wickets in four matches at a brilliant economy rate of 5.06. However, he added that most of the players have done well so far in the tournament and are expected to continue against the Sunrisers too.
“The way we play Rashid Khan is going to be the key for us on this pitch. Batting has been tough on this pitch (in Chennai), but we have got an experienced batting line-up,” Mohammad Kaif said in a release by the franchise.
“Shikhar has been batting really well and Smith batted well in the last game. Amit Mishra bowled beautifully in the last game, and we have Ravichandran Ashwin as well. Marcus Stoinis bowled well with the new ball in the last match and the way Rishabh has been leading the side, especially on a turning track, has been a great sign,” he stressed.
Axar, Mishra, and Ashwin forms a dream spin attack: Kaif
Kaif mentioned that with the return of Axar Patel, DC’s squad looks perfect now. He added that Patel alongside Ravi Ashwin and Amit Mishra forms a dream spin bowling attack for them.
“With Axar Patel returning to the squad, the balance of the Delhi Capitals squad is now perfect. He has been a key member of this franchise. He played a major role in the team finishing as runner-up last season and it will be no different this year. Axar, Mishra, and Ashwin playing together will be a dream spin bowling attack for us,” Kaif further stated.
