Punjab Kings (PBKS) took on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On a tricky pitch to bat on, the KL Rahul-led side could only manage a score of 123/9. It was a superb bowling performance from KKR which led to the same as the likes of Prasidh Krishna, Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins all chipped in with stupendous bowling spells.

KKR’s decision to win the toss and choose to bowl worked a treat as they managed to keep the run flow in check while also taking important wickets on a regular basis. None of the PBKS batters batted with a strike-rate of more than 100 with the exception of Chris Jordan who rescued the innings with a superb cameo towards the end of the innings. However, it could only take the score to 123.

In the second innings, KKR got off to a horror start as they lost Nitish Rana for a golden duck as he chipped a full toss from Moises Henriques straight to the fielder at short-cover. Shubman Gill‘s horror run then continued as he was trapped in front by Mohammed Shami. It was then Sunil Narine who was sent in at No. 4 to up the ante and score some quick runs and put the pressure on PBKS.

Off Arshdeep Singh‘s bowling, Narine lofted him towards long-on in an attempt to clear the fence. However, he did not time the ball well and it looped towards Ravi Bishnoi. However, the leggie was far off from the area where the ball was about to land and it seemed like there would be no way he would get there. But, that was exactly what he did as he ran full-speed and dived full-stretch to take the catch.
