It was yet another nail biting low scoring affair at the Chepauk as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) sealed their second win of the season. Sunrisers Hyderabad fell six runs short chasing a modest target of 150 as they conceded their second defeat of IPL 2021. While Glenn Maxwell starred for RCB with the bat, it was young all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed who starred with the ball picking up three wickets.

The young spinner scalped three wickets in his second over of the game which turned the tables in RCB’s favor. The over saw a well set Manish Pandey fall while trying a rash shot off Shahbaz. His rash shot drew animated reactions from one and all in the stadium. And that of SRH CEO Kaviya Maran has been doing the rounds on social media lately.

Pandey’s wicket triggered a collapse for the Sunrisers as they fell six runs short chasing a target of 150. The lower order failed to get going on a tricky Chepauk pitch as RCB pulled off a great comeback. The loss is SRH’s second in a row in IPL 2021 so far.

Winning the toss, SRH chose to bowl first and their bowlers proved the decision right. SRH restricted the opposition under 150 despite RCB getting off to a great start. Glenn Maxwell slammed his first IPL half century in six years to help RCB to a respectable score.

Despite losing Wriddhiman Saha early in the chase, David Warner and Manish Pandey constructed an 83-run partnership. Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner. made his way back to the pavilion after scoring 54 off 37 balls. His innings included a flurry of 7 fours and a six. Following it was a batting collapse for the former champions.

Warner’s half-century went in vain as Shahbaz’s second over changed the course of the game. The left-arm spinner scalped three crucial wickets in the over to seriously dent SRH’s hope of acing the ace. The Sunrisers’ deep batting lineup failed to get going on the tricky Chepauk pitch as RCB orchestrated a perfect comeback.
